Only three dive boat operations at the east end as compared to over 25 at the west end. While most people enjoy their diving at the waters off the world famous Seven Mile Beach on the west end of Grand Cayman, there's the adventuresome Traveler that like's to get away to the virtually untouched and virgin EAST END.
The village of East End and its 1000 plus inhabitants. You will find people to be friendly and warm hearted to travelers and will take us back in time with a simple by the sea lifestyle which this author admires. Life on the sea is still, a way of life for many.
You will enjoy the private landscaped yard.
Ship wrecks are numerous in the East End and the virgin reefs show little, if any evidence of man. In fact a short walk from your villa, you will find an Anchor peeking from the sea that is well over a 100 years old. Other ship wrecks to name just a few, The Convert a British naval escort vessel along with nine merchantmen ships struck the East End reef in 1794 and now what we know as the "Wreck of the Ten Sails." You will also find the wrecks, Rimandi, Methuslan and the Ridgefield one of our favorite, teemin with marine life in shallow water approximately a short 1/2 mile off shore on the reef. We try to visit the Ridefield each time were in Cayman along with many wrecks which we do not even know there names. Elkhorn coral and corals of many types are everywhere in the shallow reefs. And lets not forget one of Gods greatest creations the Cayman Wall a coral reef that drops off to 6000 feet and without exception will leave you in awe, and the clear waters often exceed 150 feet in visibility.
Air transportation to the Cayman islands is easy US AIR, Northwest air, Cayman Airways and others service the island on a daily schedule. No passport is needed to enter Grand Cayman just proof of citizenship (birth certificate or passport, US goverment requires passports after 12-31-06) and a round trip ticket. There are numerous car rental agency next to the airport.

Additional Information about Cayman
The Cayman Islands (pronounced Cay-mann Islands) are a peaceful, self-governing British Overseas Territory discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1503. The Islands feature clean and clear turquoise waters, surrounding a group of three low-lying coral islands located in the deep western Caribbean Sea just 480 miles south of Miami.
The
Cayman Islands consist of Grand Cayman,
Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, each offering
pristine beaches and world-class diving and fishing, shopping, dining and
sightseeing.
Perhaps even more inviting than the beauty of the Islands and their surrounding waters, are the Caymanians themselves -- among the warmest people in the Caribbean!
